Hi, I’m Michelle — a SCADA/HMI Developer, Industrial UI/UX Designer, Mechanical Engineer and Software Developer based in Calgary, Alberta.
I help businesses, engineers, and industrial teams turn complex processes into clear, intuitive, and reliable digital systems. My work blends real engineering knowledge, modern software development, and high-end UI/UX design to create tools that people genuinely enjoy using.
Where I Come From
I’m a registered Mechanical Engineer (Philippines) with over a decade of experience in manufacturing, QA/QC, and real plant-floor operations. I’ve worked with injection molding, plating, assemblies, CMM inspections, and ISO compliance — experience that taught me how systems behave in the real world, not just in theory.
When I transitioned into software, I wanted to bridge that gap:
to build smarter tools, automate tedious workflows, and visualize data in ways that actually help operators and decision-makers.
Today, my work spans SCADA/HMI design, IIoT dashboards, custom apps, and modern web development.
What I Do Best
I specialize in creating:
- High-performance SCADA/HMI interfaces (Ignition Perspective, AVEVA OASys)
- Industrial UI/UX using SVG graphics, ISA-101 principles, and tag-driven behavior
- Real-time dashboards for industrial data, trends, KPIs, and anomalies
- Desktop applications (Python/PySide6, C#) for engineering and business workflows
- Web applications with full backend logic (Python, Django, Node.js)
- Custom automation scripts that streamline operations and reduce manual work
- IIoT integrations using industry protocols (Modbus TCP, OPC UA, MQTT)
My background in manufacturing and process engineering allows me to design systems with clarity, accuracy, and operational logic, not just code.
What I Bring to the Table
- Ignition Perspective & AVEVA SCADA/HMI development
- Python, SQL, JavaScript, C# for full-stack applications
- PySide6 for polished, modern desktop apps
- SQLAlchemy & database modeling for clean, reliable data structures
- Matplotlib, Power BI, and custom trend widgets for data visualization
- Experience with real industrial processes — pressures, levels, pumps, flows, alarms
- Creative UI/UX design skills from years of digital illustration
- SVG graphic creation for custom industrial equipment symbols
- Strong understanding of operator workflows and alarm prioritization
I don’t just build software — I build systems that make sense to operators, engineers, and managers.

A Bit More About My Journey
Before becoming a developer, my work involved:
- SolidWorks modeling and technical drawings
- CMM and accuracy inspection
- ISO audits and quality systems
- Failure analysis and continuous improvement
- Automation support for manufacturing lines
These experiences shaped my approach: no fluff, no guesswork — just practical solutions that work in the real world.
Since shifting into software, I’ve:
- Designed multi-level SCADA/HMI displays for process equipment
- Created Python dashboards for industrial automation and research
- Built complete inventory and library systems for organizations
- Developed full-stack restaurant platforms with online payments
- Helped visualize sensor data in real time for engineering insights
Bonus: I’m Also a Digital Illustrator
For over 12 years, I worked as a freelance illustrator — creating clean, precise artwork for clients around the world.
This design background now shows up in my UI/UX work, giving my software and SCADA graphics a unique polished, modern look.
You can find some of my past artwork on platforms like Creative Fabrica, and Etsy.
What I Offer
I work with both hourly and fixed-price arrangements, depending on the project needs. Everything is transparent, collaborative, and tailored to your goals.
All packages include a clear scope, timelines, and optional add-ons such as training, maintenance, or documentation.
